Straight-on lighting is best for video calls, especially if you sit facing a light source. This ensures your face is well illuminated and clearly visible. Using natural light from the window to fill in the sides also creates pleasing, accurate skin tones in the camera and renders accurate colors

 For even more results, you would like to consider three point lighting.

You must avoid sitting behing a bright window or door (as shown below). The video shown to others will be silhouette.Which picture below would you like people to see you?

6) Place and Adjust Webcam at the Eye Level

Most of us are looking down at our webcam. That is the wrong way.


 

 

You can improve it by getting a notebook stand or simply stacking books below the notebook to raise the webcam to meet your eve level.



The optimal webcam setup will be 
1) Raising the webcam to your eye level
2) Lighting on both sides of your notebook
